President
Barack Obama has repeatedly voiced his support for raising the
federal minimum wage. At a March 2008 campaign appearance in
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, candidate Obama declared, "If
they're able and willing to work, they should be able to find a job
that pays a living wage." But as Dan Mage writes, despite Obama's
lofty talk, his presidential campaign employed high-tech sweatshop
labor to help get out the vote.
