In the past 50 years, crop yields have
more than doubled while global land area devoted to agriculture
increased just 5 percent. This is because modern farming practices,
including biotech enhanced crops, have dramatically boosted crop
productivity. So why do so many environmental activists refuse to
acknowledge these facts? Science Correspondent Ronald Bailey
examines that question as he picks apart a new report attacking
biotech crops from the advocacy group Union of Concerned
Scientists.
