This week a
federal jury in L.A. is deliberating whether to convict Lori Drew,
49, of violating a law aimed at computer hackers for her role in a
MySpace prank that apparently provoked a 13-year-old girl to kill
herself. Yet as Senior Editor Jacob Sullum writes, Drew is
not a hacker, and the charges against her had very little to do
with the behavior for which she was widely reviled.
