Matt,
Watch out for the Fairbanksing, it is part of the DNA of
that organization.
If libertarianism is dead, Reason helped kill it by shilling for
a socialist.
I can't wait to hear Weigel spend the next four years explaining
how wonderful redistributionism is.
If libertarianism is dead, Reason helped kill it by shilling
for a socialist.
I second that notion.
That video is cringe material. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh. Stick to writing, Mr. New Republic.
JLE,
If that guy actually writes with actual facts he might not be there
long.
I though Reason killed libertarianism in 2004 for shilling for a fascist. I'm always so far behind the times.
i like that matt hasn't read an ayn rand book (cause neither have i). i tried to read one years ago and the writing is so bland i couldn't do it. it feels like it's against the law to be libertarian minded and not be into ayn rand or at least used to be.

For many libertarians, myself included, an Ayn Rand book or two
was/is their first exposure to libertarian ideas--a starting point.
I would venture that today's budding/newish libertarians would be
less likely to have an AR starting point.
Matt Welch defends markets better than anyone I've recently seen; it was fun to watch the lefty guy sputter. Better yet he (matt) makes his points in such a clear, concise way that it's easy for lazy people like me to chop them down into talking points for my own personal use, thus aiding The Cause in places outside of punditland.
