So, I watched the much-anticipated and beating-all-expectations Gov. Palin speech at the "Gay Ol' Party" reception, sponsored by the Log Cabin Republicans and the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund.
Okay, so how did the social conservative, pro-traditional marriage politico do with this crowd? Imagine a mad scientist taking the DNA from Bette Midler, Joan Crawford and Liza Minnelli and combining it to create some kind of super-icon. This election is getting much more interesting.

I thought that it would result in
this.
(Greatest. Picture. Of. All. Time.)
Bizarro Log Cabin dude: "My dream man is the kind of man who would want to do Gov. Palin, if he could also dance and act."
Epi,
PLEASE, in the future warn people of the graphic, horrifying nature
of a link. My retinas will never be the same.
Holy cow, that's some picture!
When my wife first saw Palin last week, she said she knew gay guys
would love this woman, if only to give her a makeover.

Sorry, dude, but without the shock it won't be as effective.

It's easier if you just expect it.
My retinas will never be the same.
Thank god I wasn't wearing my glasses so it was fuzzy enough to be
safe.
Ahhh!!! Don't let the scary people get me!
Just put down the mirror, joe, it'll be ok.

My brain kind of froze in horror upon reading this line, I do
admit. Took me a couple minutes to recover.
It's rather interesting to read the reactions of people, if she
were on the lead of the ticket, rather than the VP, that would be
very interesting as we'd have two candidates that appear to be
judged more on their speach presentations than actual substance.
Still, she does have some experience as a gov, which is far closer
to that of a president than a senator, so she probably has a bit
more substance, while Obama has the edge on raw presentation
ability. Unfortunately we're not going to see that fun.
Of course the LCR are predisposed to like a republican candidate,
so that has to be taken into account. She obviously mobilized the
republican base, but it remains to be seen if she affects the
independents.
The dems doing the antiPalin dance are hilarious to watch, to try
to negate her influce without revealing their own
sexist/elitist/racist/feminist/whateverist biases. Biden will get
his ass kicked in VP debates. So we do have her to thank for a
couple of things at least.
I suppose this has already made the rounds here?

Ha, excellent, Rhywun.
The rest of you have never seen that picture before? I remember
when it was in the NY Post.
And I'd swear that's been around since way before Palin got
picked.
Clearly, it was set up by the Urkobold when Palin was predicted in
May.
I'd seen the picture before, Episiarch, but that doesn't make it any less scary when someone springs it on you.
