reason's Matt Welch, Mike Flynn, David Weigel, and Tim Cavanaugh kick off the Democratic National Convention in Denver with a roundtable about what to watch for as the coronation of Sen. Barack Obama lurches on.
This six-minute video of conversation and on-the-scene footage was shot by reason.tv's Alexander Manning.

I can't get past the set's resemblence to Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper in Milan, Italy. What I want to know is, who's supposed to be the Christ?
How about a little transcript action for those of us at work
who can't WTFV?
Word. Don't you guys have interns for this shit?
2 C-stands... $20 (per day rental)
10' x 15' sheet of duvetyne... $20
vinyl Reason logo... $15
transforming Grandma's kitchen into some semblance of a
professional set... priceless
I thought they were going for the working-journalist look, but in that case they really should have shots and beers on that bar in front of them.
There was apparently no truth to the rumor Obama's brother showed up and asked to move into the protestor cage.
You looked better with those long, blonde, surfer locks, Matt. Oh yea: How about more on the disconnect between this raging mad U.S. population and Obama's flaccid poll numbers?
Here's a little speech I wrote last night:
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears...
I second the call as I cant' WTFV at work either. Even a downloadable video file or audio file would be cool.
LOL, A political convention, gee I think I would rather watch

Tee, I think I'd rather sniff paint thinner than watch a convention. It would probably do less brain damage.
Watching Democrats attempt to do anything in an organized
fashion can always be a little bit entertaining.
Watching Republicans attempt to be spontaneous and exuberant is
even more entertaining.
However, I find it extremely difficult to listen to political
speeches (by anyone) without yawning or cringing. And three days of
that? Ouch.
