New at Reason: Damon Root on Jacksonian Conservatism

According to former Justice Department lawyer John Yoo, Andrew Jackson "reinvigorated the Presidency,"  transforming it into "the direct representation of the American people." But as Associate Editor Damon Root explains, all that means is that Old Hickory placed himself above the law.
