More Fun With the Dumbest People on the Internet
It's been a while since I suited up and dumpster-dived in the Obama conspiracyverse. In my absence, I reckon that the average IQ there has dipped by 20-25 points. Take this latest revelation from Larry "Whitey Tape" Johnson.
Republican operatives, with help from their own island backers, have unearthed critical information on Obama and are just biding their time until after the convention to drop it on him. Such as? Having a birth certificate that lists you as Barry Soetoro.
Incredible! Ann Dunham met her second husband, Lolo Soetoro in 1966, in Hawaii. "Barry" Obama was, at this time, five years old. The only reasonable explanation is that Dunham and Soetoro built (or purchased) a Genesis Device to clone a new son, using DNA from Barack Obama Sr. that Dunham had pulled off one of his combs.
Seriously. The "evidence" for Johnson's claim is the now-familiar murmurings of "sources" and GOP "operatives" (who appear in these things quicker than agents of H.Y.D.R.A.) and the fact—not reported in too many places, but never disputed—that when Lolo Soetoro became his adoptive father, the young Barack was enrolled in school as "Barack Soetoro."
But was there anything at all odd about that as it concerns a candidate for president? Bill Clinton was William Blythe III until he turned 14 and his mother married Roger Clinton. Gerald Ford was born Leslie Lynch King, Jr., and three years later his mother married Gerald R. Ford and unofficially re-named her son. The younger Ford didn't legally change his name until his was 22 years old. Is Larry Johnson or one of his pseudononymous fellow travellers going to retroactively challenge their legitimacy or veracity? Probably not. There's nothing odd or foreign about Ford's and Clinton's lives—there's no way to stoke racial bigotry and paranoia, which is the indisputable goal of this stuff.
Alas, this was only the second-stupidist event in Birth Certificatestan this week. The stupidest:
Forensics specialist Techdude, who has been chipping away at the Obama Birth Certificate mystery for some time, has confirmed that the name on the original Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) which was used to forge the document presented by Barack Obama as his valid Birth Certificate IS:
Maya Kassandra Soetoro.
Maya Soetoro is Barack Obama's half-sister. She was born in
1970. In Indonesia. Fun fact: Indonesia is not part of
Hawaii.
Another fun fact: It's been 88 days since Larry Johnson claimed the
existence of the "whitey" tape.

When a child is adopted by a stepfather, the parents can have
the original birth certificate replaced by a new one listing the
adoptive father as the birth father. (My parents did this.)
Possibly that is what happened with Obama, though his mother
doesn't appear to be the kind of person who would have cared. It
may have been her husband who wanted it done so "Barry Soetero"
would be accepted as his son in Indonesia. Possibly, too, he was
thinking about moving to Hawaii, so he'd already have a foot in the
door with an American-born son as well as an American wife.
But ... why then would a fake birth certificate be posted on the
internet? It is inexplicable.
As long as Obama is a natural born citizen, what difference could
it possibly make what his birth certificate says?

As best I can tell, it's something that may have only helped in the
primary if true... as it might indicate that he wasn't actually
half-black (but rather half Pacific Islander), thereby possibly
denying him near-reflexive support from African-American primary
voters.
That being said, if you believe that sort of identity politics to
be possible, you'd also have to take into account the great
likelihood that minorities of all stripes would've flocked to his
campaign by virtue of being a racial "outsider", possibly earning
him more votes in the primaries... so you never know.

These dumb people might cause Obama a lot of votes. I'm not
voting for Obama because I think he (like many on the left and far
right who do not believe in individual freedoms) is un-American.
But there are some who think is is not only un-American, but "not
American" as well. The stuff about not being born in the US is
likely bunk. The bigger issue is does he retain citizenship in
Kenya, and does that in any way negate his US citizenship. Even if
it does not, it creates doubts about the man. Do you really want to
elect a national leader that holds allegiance to more than one
country? As import a question, do you want to run a candidate for
your party whose loyalty might be questionable in the minds of
non-crazy people?
If the issues raised in the following blogs cannot be squashed
decisively, is it risky to nominate Obama at the Democrat
convention? (it doesn't matter if his citizenship is technically
valid, if you cannot completely destroy these arguments...you know
what I be sayin)

Again, the typo is revealing. I suspect that Obama isn't all that
unhappy, at all, with the noise raised by these nuts, because it
serves to dilute and distract from more serious and substantive
issues that could, indeed, cost him votes.
I suspect a full accounting of his relationship and work, over many
years and multiple fora, with William Ayers, would indeed cost him
some votes. But as long as this other stuff is circulating, those

The name of the game is voting. I am an American and I have always
exercised my right to vote. My selection is simply that...MY
selection. I have done the research, even if I didn't buy BO's
book. I've looked at his career, his voting record, and his views.
If I simply voted on the candidates views, I could probably vote
for BO. But I take a more rounded view of who gets to sit in the
Oval Office...I take into consideration this person's career and
personal history, and BO's just doesn't cut it for me.
Your comment was insulting...but then, I've come to expect nothing
less from BO's supporters. If you don't like the concept of freedom
of speech, etc, perhaps you should move to another country, where,

Libertarianism, a fairly new movement in the United States, is propounded by politicians, business people and pundits. They say it is the only way America can regain its pre-eminence in the world. But it is really just another name for egotism, narcissism, and sociopathic behavior.
It is not a new way of thinking, but is based in erroneous aristocratic assumptions regarding wealth, power and position that are still held by many. They believe they are smarter, better, and therefore, more deserving than the rest of us.
Many high achievers (and those who believe they should be, but…) act as if they are aristocrats. They deserve to be treated in a special way, socially, in business and legally. Other people believe they are to be treated aristocratically because of their birth into the right family, education in the right schools and position in the right society. They think they should not have to pay a fair share of taxes, have laws limit their actions, or be critiqued for their lifestyles.
Instead, they deserve to have several McMansions and condos and to buy up huge tracts of land for their own use, posting it to prevent others from enjoying it. And, of course, they imply, "Don't question us about paying for what we have. After all, we've got money, even if we also have huge debts."
The money they made is frequently not due to inventiveness or even hard work. Instead it is made by cooking books, cutting corners, ignoring laws, and making false (or at a minimum very questionable) statements in documents, contracts and advertisements. They also prey on people's weaknesses, pride and greed, but mainly on their ignorance.

I confirmed today that several teams/individuals visited Jakarta during the last six months to gather up critical documents regarding Barack. It is amazing what money can buy. The information includes details of how Barack made his way to Pakistan. Oh! Did I mention there have been similar efforts underway in Pakistan. This entire thread is based on a false premise,
that 'Republican operatives' started this? Whoa Nelly. Larry
Johnson is a Hillary and PUMA supporter, virtually all of the
research to date about the birth certificate has been done by
like-minded Democrats. Now, re-read all the posts above and see if
you believe your own comments or those of others.

One of the funny things about it is "Texas Darlin'" isn't
actually from Texas. Her blog used to be about the perils of being
a pro-Clinton yuppy from Southern California, until she decided
that a folksy persona would work better, scrubbed her diary of all
things Los Angeles, and redubbed herself "TexasDarlin".
The lefty blogs know her well, and refer to her as
"SoCalDarlin".

First of all, why doesn't Obama come clean and produce a
legitimate birth certificate like McCain did.
Secondly, You cannot be president with dual citizenship. Obama was
an Indonesian citizen going to an Indonesian school as a Muslim
with the name Barry Soetoro.
If there is nothing corrupt going on Obama should simply produce
his original birth certificate and his passport.
This reminds me of the passport break-in a few months back. Was
Obama involved in that too.
We deserve to know who is really running for president, and if he
is eligible or not.
I tend to believe there is fraud and forgery going on here because
that is how Obama "won" his delegates in the caucuses. He sent his
goons in to the caucuses to steal delegates using fraud, theft,
threats, and force.
If he can't come up with the truth he should back out and let
Hillary be the nominee. She did win the people's votes after
all.
And, she can easily beat McCain without all this bad judgement,
corrupt friends, racist and un-American preachers, flip-flopping,
lack of experience, no worldly knowledge, no record of
accomplishments, dual-citizenship, ineligible, fraud stuff that the
GOP will pounce on right after the convention.

There's a bigotry going around that if you don't support Obama
than you must be either a) a racist, or b) a racist nutjob who
thinks he's muslim, or maybe c) a racist rabid "Strom Thurmond"
republican.
Yes, there are probably a few people like that, but please, let's
give the American public more credit. I believe the overwhelming
majority of people are not voting for Obama because they don't
believe he has the experience to deal with the problems that this
country faces, specifically the economy and foreign policy. He has
zero executive experience, and zero foreign policy experience, and
that is what scares thinking people, not his "funny name".
And then there are a lot of voters who just like John McCain. Why?
Because he's white? Because he's christian? No, because he's
likable and a genuine war hero, and has a proven record of reaching
across the aisle on issues like campaign finance reform, judicial
nominations, etc. He's not a "wingnut". It's also easier to trust
someone you've known for a while, so a McCain flip flop doesn't do
the damage of an Obama flip flop.
But isn't McCain four more years of Bush? No. Give the American
voters credit for this one too. McCain was never a part of the Bush
administration. Obama isn't Clinton or Carter and McCain isn't Bush
or Reagan. They are in fact all different people.
So enough with this phony reporting that denigrates American
judgement. People are examining both candidates and making
decisions, which is how the process is supposed to work. And yes,
the Democrats made a mistake by nominating their weakest candidate
rather than the strongest - but what else is new.

Ok, I have to admit it; I just love the Hillary supporters.
After all it they dislike Barack Obama as much as I do. When the
enemy is engaged in a bloody civil war you give aid to both sides
of the conflict and let them fight to the death. The ideal is to
prolong the war not to stop it. Let us pray that this bloody feud
plays into the Democratic National Convention.
That is why the vast rightwing conspiracy aka the new media must
get to the bottom of this whole thing. We need to independently
verify the validity of Obama's birth certificate and the most
outlandish claims of this "Techdude". In theory by using clean
files and his mythology it can be reproduced either verifying or
disproving his claims.
The mileage gained is priceless. If all that we are able to prove
is that image of a birth certificate is indeed a forgery we can
ask: If team Obama was willing to lie about this; what else is he
willing to lie about? Never mind about the question of motive or
the more spectacular claims. The story and its deeper implications
would hound him the rest of the campaign.
Then of course if it proved that Clinton supporters deliberately
faked their forensic evidence about this alleged fakery it is in
itself newsworthy. I mean just how divided is the Democratic Party?
Just how dissatisfied are the Hilary supporters? What are the full
lengths they are willing to get Hillary nominated?
These are the stories that could help steal the thunder from the
Democratic National Convention. Please give Rush Limbaugh a nice
present. Please investigate this story and find a story angle that
promotes operation chaos.

I guess we're boned then, because John McCain has dual citizenship.
Everybody born in the Canal Zone is a Panamanian citizen, even if
you were born on a military base. The base just gets you American
citizenship, it doesn't keep you from being Panamanian. And Panama
allows full dual citizenship, unlike Indonesia or Kenya where dual
citizenship is only allowed for children, and expires when you hit
legal majority. (18 and 21 respectively) McCain can take his birth
certificate down to the embassy and pick up a Panamanian passport
any time he wants.

I stumbled onto the TexasDarlin blog earlier today and my head
about imploded. I knew it was trash, I could see it was trash, but
it was like watching a train wreck and I couldn't stop reading it.
Good heavens some people need to just asphyxiate themselves and
stop wasting precious oxygen.
How on earth exactly does a "Forensic specialist" chip away at a
rasterized image and find anything? The only thing behind one layer
in a rasterized image is...nothing. Before someone says "because
he's a Forensic specialist", uh, please, so am I according to my
university transcripts. "Techdude" is probably some liberal blogger
having a whole lot of fun at TexasDarlin's expense.

A few things:
-Natalie's post was amazing, and makes me want to step up as leader
of the free world.
-People are being a little rough on dmooney, etc. They are entitled
to their opinions, and while we are entitled to ridicule them for
these same opinions, we don't need to debase ourselves by stooping
to (frankly) childish insults. Even if they are really, really
funny...
-I am just as disgusted with the political scene as everyone else
here. In fact, it reminds me a great deal of the nation-weakening
infighting that has led great states to snazzy new forms of
government--such as facism, dictatorship, theocracy, etc. Yikes.
Quit spending so much time gutting one another, and find some
freaking common ground.
-The sad fact of my life is that I have not yet settled on which of
our two fine candidates will be my 2008 Choice for Lesser of Two
Evils. They are both poor choices. BO has a whopping 4 years on the
job. JC has all of the iron-spined fortitude of self-governing
principle of a sea cucumber. God (or Allah, or Buddha, or Zeus or
Mithras, etc--whatever your line may be) help us.

you Obama supporters just amaze me with your self imposed
ignorance and refusal of the truth. First of all, there is an AP
endorsed photo of Obama's (aka soetoro) Indonesian school
registration, indicating his citizenship as Indonesian, and his
religion as Muslim. THAT DOCUMENT'S EXISTENCE IS FACT. Is there
anything wrong with being Indonesian or Muslim? Of course not. But
what is wrong, and downright evil, is that Obama (Soetoro) has
based his entire candidacy and identity on a LIE. He has lied, and
continues to lie about it ("I have never been a Muslim". ) If there
is nothing wrong with being Muslim,then why does he have to lie
about it? He is a pure and unadulterated fraud and liar.
Not only that, but he also lied on his Illionis bar application,
saying he has never had other aliases. Again, it is not an issue
that he had prior names or not; what is an issue, is that he LIED.
Do you understand that? You are clearly the dumbest people on the
internet if you don't understand the true fraud that is Obama

remind the Obamatons that eventually Clinton's biggest problem
turned out to be not what he did with monica Levisnsky, but the
fact that HE LIED under oath. Had he taken the "I was a
knucklehead" path, the scandal would wave pettered off after a
