Good news from the contracting business:
The US military has awarded an $80 million contract to a prominent Saudi financier who has been indicted by the US Justice Department. The contract to supply jet fuel to American bases in Afghanistan was awarded to the Attock Refinery Ltd, a Pakistani-based refinery owned by Gaith Pharaon. Pharaon is wanted in connection with his alleged role at the failed Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI), and the CenTrust savings and loan scandal, which cost US tax payers $1.7 billion.
This gives me a reason to post my favorite oil-focused political
ad.
Be gracious, guys!

masturbate to the online American Apparel catalog*.
*Mmmmmmm, barely legal hirsute waifs.
Wow.
I haven't seen that much appeal to bigotry, jingoism, populism and
ignorance in 30 seconds since the last time I looked in on Rush
Limbaugh.
I haven't seen that much appeal to bigotry, jingoism, populism
and ignorance in 30 seconds since the last time I looked in
on Rush Limbaugh listened to Obama, Hillary, or
McCain.
It's about time those ragheads show their appreciation for the death of a half million arabs, the bombings, the occupation and the complete economic destruction of their country, damnit!
I haven't seen that much appeal to bigotry, jingoism,

Not that I recommend spending too much time listening el Rushbo, as
he calls himself now, but maybe you don't listen to him enough.
Actually, Rush gets nearly exasperated reminding his own
ditto-heads that Canada is the US's largest supplier of foreign
oil.
And why don't those dirty, beer-swilling Canucks show us some appreciation for saving their asses in WW2. If it wasn't for us they'd all be speaking Japanese.
Is about time these B-youn'aire mil'lil eastern sheiks show us some grat'tude by luhr'rin their oil prices...
This is sort of a side note, but David Weigel's blogging is
getting better and better.
I still have an issue with his virulent anti-Truther streak, but
his posts are now observant and funny. Me like. On this post, as
with most of his "beat" I don't have any comments of substance to
add, but I did want to say: good work, David Weigel!!
I still have an issue with his virulent
anti-Truther streak of reporting facts based
on science and data rather than nutjob conspiracy theories with no
basis in reality, but his posts are now observant and
funny.
There, fixed...
Look, Taktix, I was trying to say something nice there. They
give us a reasonable amount of conspiracy threads here, but I am
not trying to turn this into one of them.
This is just one of those Weigel posts where I read it and get a
nice chuckle and think a thought I wouldntah o'wise.
None shall escape the Great Truther Purge! Muh ha ha ha
ha!
Just joshing ya, Dave. Jeez...
Dave, lighten up. If you want to complain about Weigel, I would focus on his obviously gigantic consumption of HFCS and possible ties to ADM, rather than his mild spanking of Truthers.
For the record, I think that radical Muslim hijackers hijacked
planes that hit the Pentagon and Twin Towers and were the cause of
the Twin Towers coming down.
Also, for the record: I used to think that HFCS caused diabetes out
of proportion to "equivalent" amounts of sugar, but was convinced
otherwise (at least provisionally) by medical literature I found on
teh Nets.
If I am purged, like I am at one new blog dedicated to chemotaxis
and related, then at least I want that to be for the right
reasons.
No one is going to purge you, Dave. They haven't even purged LoneWacko, why would they purge you?
Oh, I think I have had more comments purged from this site than you have made. and don't even get me started on Tim Banvanaugh.
I don't know about telling Arabs how much oil to sell us...but if she wants to cut fuel taxes and allow for more domestic oil exploration she would have my vote.
