In the cover story from our February issue, and just in time for the Iowa caucuses, Brian Doherty reports from the trenches of the Ron Paul revolution.

Anybody watch Drew Carey on his new show, the Power of 10 last
night? He comes from a pentecostal background and actually reads
the Bible. Lew Rockwell of the Mises Institute is a believer in
God. So is Ron Paul. So is Tom Dilorenzo. So is the Free State
Project founder, and it's last president. The list goes on and
on.
I'm stating this just to show that there is a burgeoning Christian
libertarian/anarchist movement that is proving more and more
influential. The stereotype of a paleoconservative Christian or Jew
being a prohibitionist and mindless Falwell supporter is dated and
inaccurate at best.
God bless Ron Paul today in Iowa.

Jacob Hornberger and Doug Bandow are two more Christian
libertarians.
On another subject, I read in another blog that Glen Beck said last
night that he received a death threat because of his support for
Ron Paul. I didn't know that Glen Beck is now supporting Ron Paul.
Beck had been so opposed to Ron Paul previously. Anybody else know
anything about Beck supporting Paul?
I don't, know any more about Beck, Rattlesnake. That would be
interesting if it is the case.
Here's libertarian philosopher (and dog) endorsing Ron Paul.

You can add me to the list, although I probably dont qualify as influencial, although one of my libertarian leaning atheist republican friends is on the Paul bandwagon, so I guess I have some influence.
An article written in November, printed in December, for the
February issue. Sheesh. Tell me this, why can't the issue that goes
on sale in January, be the January issue? What's up with
that?
Iowa caucus today. I'm counting above fifth place for Ron Paul as a
win. Third place is my hope.
The candidate's critics invented the term "Paulistas" to
mock those supporters as wild-eyed radicals. Many of them then
claimed the word for themselves, adopting it as a badge of
honor.
Not unlike the 1776 revolutionaries who embraced "Yankee Doodle."
There's a smell of freedom around a movement that can laugh at
itself.

Not quite. The Christian libertarian movement is swelling, thanks
in small part to the Paul evolution. (And no, I didn't mean
"revolution" or "revolution.") But the evangelical "Jesus
with SWAT and no-knock warrant" branch of Christianity is not
fading away.
And yes, I'm a Christian libertarian.
There's a smell of freedom around a movement that can laugh
at itself.
The atheist Paul supporter I mentioned above is refering to himself
as a "Paultard". I wont go that far, wonkette annoys me too
much.
Um guys perhaps its a libertarian movement that attracts all sorts of people because, as Dr. Paul said, freedom is popular?
On another subject, I read in another blog that Glen Beck
said last night that he received a death threat because of his
support for Ron Paul.
No, he recieved a death threats for not supporting Paul (ie
disagreeing with him on the radio) from the conspiracy fringe.
On CNN Howard Dean just said that "all the Republicans are running to be a third term for Bush." He repeated that twice more in the interview. I'm so glad that loser decided to run for President and let us get a more reasonable and intelligent governor. Jim Douglas declined to sign the petition to put Paul on the Vermont ballot, but at least he knew who he was.
Given that he already has a blimp, maybe a mascot isn't a bad idea. How about Libby, the Liberty Eagle?
Ron Paul won the newsmax.com online poll with 23% of the conservative readers favoring him. Thompson came in second at 19%. This was out of around 400,000 votes. I think this is significant in that it shows there are a lot of conservatives out there that don't agree with our military interventionist state.
In practice, there's not much difference between trenches and
sewers, both in war and in politics.
Sort of like when you're just starting puberty, there's not much
difference between a vagina and a hollowed-out pear.
Actually, I'm just trying to derail every thread they put up today. It's part of my new year's resolution.
