They Were Simpler Times

I don't know where YouTuber Travis Church found it, but this 1984 Lyndon LaRouche ad is a thing of beauty.

The Democrats aren't doing that well, all things considered. They have a nice poll lead but no successes to speak of in Congress. But they're not being bothered by a LaRouche campaign, showing up and demanding to get into debates, winning actual delegates and scrapping with the party to get them. The GOP's a bit more of a circus now as evidenced by the entrance into the '08 race of Alan Keyes.

You know in an alternate universe somewhere, they're having a Keyes/LaRouche race.

In a conservative's mind: Keyes = Obama neutralizer.

I guess plan A was to associate him with Osama.

Plan B seems to be "bring in a black guy, because Obama is a black guy, and... you know..."

I guess I can update my Gramm/Keyes '96 bumpersticker to Paul/Keyes '08.

(It was a mental bumpersticker, it never existed, obviously. After Gramm and then Keyes dropped out in 1996, I voted LP for the first time)

Maybe Edward can spend all his time on here cursing out Keyes, now.

Yeah, 5 years ago. Today, even conservatives know Keyes is an Obama enhancer.

Oh man, if Keyes' campaign is half as hilarious as his Illinois run, we're looking at comedic gold. It was like he was in a race against himself to see who could get the "batshit crazy" label first.

Today, even conservatives know Keyes is an Obama enhancer.

According to one recent study, injecting Keyes can increase audacity by up to 50%

that really worked out well for the Illinois GOP - and a big echo of what Hr. Kovacs says @ 10:30! It made the monty Python "silly party" seem dead serious!

Alan Keyes + Lyndon LaRouche = Riley Martin

Again with the passive voice, Weigel? Cut that shit out.

Also, in a battle of crazy between Keyes and LaRouche, I'm not sure who would win. The universe might just collapse.

You know in an alternate universe somewhere, they're having a Keyes/LaRouche race.

I'd pay good money to watch that. And could the results really be that much worse than Clinton vs. Giuliani?

highnumber|9.21.07 @ 1:27PM|

I too found Keyes' performance in Obama's March to Washington to be entertaining at first. By the end I found him infuriating and I felt sorry for Obama for being forced to take him seriously. Definitely an Obama enhancer.

VM|9.21.07 @ 1:34PM|

sort of ObamaEnzyte?

|9.21.07 @ 1:48PM|

If you have an Obama lasting longer than four hours, seek medical attention...

VM|9.21.07 @ 3:00PM|

An Obamapriapism?

Is it true what they say about you people?

Oooh, it's true, it's true!

In the alternate universe, Larouche has a goatee but Keyes is clean-shaven.

Anyone else remember the LaRouche science mag? Is that still published?
