I'll be on the road bringing the good news of my new book Radicals for Capitalism: A Freewheeling History of the Modern American Libertarian Movement to Seattle and Portland this week.
First: Tuesday March 27, 7 p.m., University Bookstore, 4226 University Way NE in Seattle, Washington: talking about, answering questions about, and signing the book.
Then: I do the same thing the next day, Wednesday March 28, 7:30 p.m., at Powell's Bookstore, 1005 West Burnside, in Portland, Oregon.
Come one, come all. For relentlessly updated news, reviews, appearances, media, interviews related to the book (believe it or not, it doesn't all get mentioned here), see radicalsforcapitalism.com .

If you come to Chicago, preferably Barbara's in Oak Park, I'll buy your book.
Deal?

ARRRRRRRRRRGH!
So close, and yet so far away.
Sadly, the University bookstore in Seattle (my old stomping grounds) is now 190 miles on the other side of the mountains from where I reside.
Brian,
Do yourself a flavor and stop by Schulty's Sausage for a grilled sausage on a toasted bun. The sausages are made by Schultzy and are to die for. There is always a pot of kraut and chili and sausage gumbo simmering too. It's just a short block down from the U bookstore.

Tell Shultzy you were sent by the guy who named his French andouille sausage "Le Haute Dawg" back in 1988.
I have such a craving for a beer and a braut right now.

Please let us know of any sort of interesting exchanges/questions/assaults that occur at the U.book store. Last time I was in Seattle, if I even whispered the word 'capitalist' without smirking derisively invariably I had my car keyed. Not really, but it wasn't pleasant.

There's also a great hamburger joint a block south of the University Books Store, next to the Post Office, and a nice pizza by the slice place a block north (try the house salad).
The staff at the bookstore is excellent, by the way. And tell the crowd that the store will ship gift copies of your book for free!

Of course, there is a brew pub a block and a half south, the Big Time.
