The article seems to assume he defected. Given what we know
about the current administrations in both Israel and the United
States, I wouldn't be so quick to rule out the kidnapping
scenario.
Either way, I get the feeling we haven't heard the last of this
case. The story is big news either way, it'll be interesting to
eventually find out the circumstances behind his disappearance.
I wish there was a place that our high level bureaucrats would defect to.
It isn't the Illuminati? How come it is never them and the first accusation is always us?
If we did not have Cold-War-esque espionage hijinks, we would have to invent them.
Ummm.
It's spring break.
I'm thinkin they might be at the beach hittin the houka and ogling
the tramps in the micro mini burqas
If the U.S. played a role in Asgari's defection, it will
boost morale in Washington after the intelligence debacle in
Iraq.
Can you purposefully create a debacle?
The moral of the story is that if the U.S. wants to deal with
Iran successfully, it has to do so as much in the darker recesses
of state interaction than from the top of aircraft
carriers.
Yeah, all the US government needs to be is more opaque and
mysterious in its war of terror and we'll be one more step to
victory.
Another pulitzer for Mr. Young please.
Maybe he wanted to get out of town before the critical mass of UN Security Council resolutions against Iran reached critical mass?
