Friday Fun (or just interesting) Link

Great one-minute time-lapse of the Aurora Borealis seen from British Columbia, made even more dramatic by ever-vigilant YouTube commenter Robodoon, who scolds: "Does anyone notice we are losing our Nation and our freedom while you look at pretty lights?"

Here's to you, James Van Allen.

Bad. Ass.

I had to turn on "see all comments" and do a page search to find Robodoon's comments.

He/she reminded me of the "Hope Is Emo" videos.

WHERE ARE OUR PRIORITIES??

See the best pictures of Saturn ever, by way of the Bad Astronomer and the Cassini probe. The Earth is visible in these pictures, as well.

Oh, and no political objections to the photos in the comments as of yet :)

Oh roar a roar for Norah
Norah Alice in the night
For she has seen Aurora
Borealis burning bright...

The worst thing about losing my Nation and my freedom is how people continually bug me for wanting to look at pretty lights.

Nice verse Jesse!

The problem some people have with freedom, lost, won, etc. is that they think we should listen to them whine. Sometimes, you just need to stop and watch the pretty colored lights. Here in Texas, a display like that would presage: 1. Killer thunderstorms, have to protect our lifes & property. 2. Doomsday, End-of-the-World Apocalypse, The Trump & The Shout(tm) Rapture events. Lets go watch the cemetaries empty. OR 3. The aliens have landed: Maw, get yer gun!

(tm) copy right Yahweh, Jehovah, et al.
