Reminds me of a certain movie called "The American President" when a certain CIC got in front of the media and said the following...
"... And whatever your particular problem is, I promise you, (insert conservative here) is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only: making you afraid of it and telling you who's to blame for it. That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you win elections."
Now, substitute (insert conservative here) with your favorite talking head or politician and that pretty much spells the politics of the past few elections.

If that was actually true, I'd wish we had a lot more "conservatives" who weren't interested in proposing a government solution for every problem or potential problem they can dream up.
After all, the "who's to blame" is usually the government.

So is it safe to say that Al Qaeda is objectively pro-Republican?

You know what you never see? Democrats accusing Republicans of celebrating terrorism when one of these bumps occurs.
As opposed to all the times we see conservatives accuse liberals of being happy when U.S. troops are killed in Iraq.
That smear only seems to go one way, doesn't it.

That particular smear may not play well to the target demographic, but let's not pretend the Democrats are on a higher horse just for that.
...if it stinks and sticks, they'll throw it.

Nuttin new to see here, move along: "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." - Mencken
How about that pesky ol' global warming? Scarier than fatty foods, cigarettes, crackheads, drunk drivers...?
