New at Reason

Cathy Young calls for another Russian revolution.

|5.9.06 @ 8:20AM|

Yeah, things do seem to be regressing back to the bad ol' days in Russia. It's tough to see where this is going in the end, but for now the signs are ominous. The only thing I can think would help would be more trade, more open give and take, etc. The last thing we need is another excuse for the MIC to rape the American taxpayor in the name of fear.

the MIC

How quaint.

Larry A|5.9.06 @ 9:02AM|

Yeah, things do seem to be regressing back to the bad ol' days in Russia.

The scary part is that they're replicating the Campaign Finance Reform Act.

Tim Cavanaugh|5.9.06 @ 9:13AM|

Real question:

What's MIC?

An anti-Irish slur, I hope?

|5.9.06 @ 9:21AM|

Military-industrial complex?

MP|5.9.06 @ 9:22AM|

What's MIC?

Why, it's the Military Industrial Complex, the source of all evil in the modern world.

|5.9.06 @ 9:54AM|

It may not be the source of all evil, but it sure knows how to suck money out of our national coffers for NOTHING of any value...

What's MIC?

Check out the new Harper's magazine for some fun emails of an MIC'er gone wild.

Timothy|5.9.06 @ 10:06AM|

Military has never done a single thing good, that's for sure. Nope, never, not once. Hard to see why we have one, beats me. Good thing we didn't need it for anything in the 20th century, what a quiet, uneventful century full of peaceful fluffy nations that was.

|5.9.06 @ 10:27AM|

Timothy,

Libertarians, of all people, should understand why America never kept a post war standing army. After WWII, we became a military empire and though Eisenhower warned us, we allowed the military to remain standing full in peace time and now we have at least two very serious unnecessary wars to thank the MIC for. We have become imperial and warlike, thanks to this. Disgusting. Stupid, wasteful, brutal and disgusting.

Disgusting. Stupid, wasteful, brutal and disgusting.

Holy crap! JMJ is so appalled he said disgusting twice. And I'm so surprised i'm going to say holy crap three times! Holy crap!

|5.9.06 @ 11:09AM|

I know this is off topic but does anyone else want to buy one of the swimming pool treadmills that are advertised on the right of this page?

I love the fact that The Reason considers itself to be a bit of a smartypanse yet at the same time is advertising one of the crapest/coolest things I have ever seen in my life.

If I did a week in the treadpool, I would get my sweet-abs back and girls would start swooning.

|5.9.06 @ 11:39AM|

Hey at least the dude swimming into infinity is better than the carpet humper.

It is obviously a tool of the MIC.

|5.9.06 @ 3:45PM|

Holy fucking Jesus fucking Jesus! Holy crap fucking Jesus crap Jesus fuck! Crap! Holy fucking fuck! Crap fucking holy Jesus Jesus holy fucking crap!

Jesus!

(What it do.)

|5.9.06 @ 5:08PM|

I have a hard time taking seriously anyone who talks about the MIC. Oh please.

Next thing you'll try to tell me is that corporations can make people buy their products via advertising.

R C Dean|5.9.06 @ 5:34PM|

Our hospital physical therapy departments have some of those. They work, brother.

|5.9.06 @ 5:38PM|

Wow, something I agree with Pat Buchanan on
