John J. Pitney Jr. listens for the dog that didn't bark in Trent Lott's disingenuous memoir Herding Cats.

Ah who cares. The RPG is back.
|3.15.06 @ 3:27PM|#
Oh no! My boob is falling out in that picture!
R C Dean|3.15.06 @ 3:32PM|#
She's back! Woohoo!
|3.15.06 @ 3:34PM|#
You guys are weak.
Hit and Run seriously needs to get more chicks visiting here.
Oh no! My boob is falling out in that picture!
RPG,
I just noticed that right before I saw your comment. That was probably intentional on your part, you cheap slut.
|3.15.06 @ 3:36PM|#
Smacky, leave the poor defensless RPG alone.
Julian, umm, linky no worky.
|3.15.06 @ 3:37PM|#
The breast doesn't work.
I tried to breast on it, and instead of breasting me to the breast described in the headbreast, I got a 404 breast.
|3.15.06 @ 3:39PM|#
Ok, joe. That was funny.
|3.15.06 @ 3:42PM|#
Smacky, that's your name? Hah. Keep it up, I'll smack you!
|3.15.06 @ 3:44PM|#
That's what you think. I do the smacking around here.
|3.15.06 @ 3:52PM|#
That's it. Get your bikini on and meet me in the ring!
|3.15.06 @ 3:55PM|#
Since she is now holding a Magazine and not a Pillow, it would be more accurate to call her RMG, would it not?
|3.15.06 @ 3:56PM|#
So now I'm supposed to get a new email address too! It's not enough I figured out how to post on this nerd site?
|3.15.06 @ 4:07PM|#
That's it. Get your bikini on and meet me in the ring!
Okay, this is getting interesting.
|3.15.06 @ 4:10PM|#
If she were black I'd swear the RPG was the same woman who did my root canal yesterday. Facially anyway, I didn't get the erotic endodontic treatment.
|3.15.06 @ 4:10PM|#
Now that the URL is corrected, I have to say, that is one of the nastier little political knifings I've ever seen. Yowch.
Nice shot, Prof. Pitney.
|3.15.06 @ 4:16PM|#
'?Schools are allowed to practice racial discrimination in admissions in the interest of diversity.? For backers of affirmative action, that statement remains uncomfortably accurate.'
A thing is not itself good or evil, but becomes so through our use of it - Thomas Acquinas.
That statement isn't uncomfortable for me. Soldiers firing bullets from rifles is how America won World War Two AND how National Guardsmen killed four people at Kent State University.
Segregation is wrong. Integration is good. Racial inequality is wrong. Racial equality is good. A racial caste system is wrong; eliminating a racial caste system is good.
I don't consider it embarrassing that I refuse to pretend not to notice the racial problems this country is facing, and trying to overcome.

"Yes, there is a double standard. As Republicans like to point out, former Klansman Robert Byrd is the ranking Democratic senator. But he has escaped the wrath of civil rights organizations by moving left over the years."
"Moving leftward," meaning "renouncing racist beliefs and policies, and supporting desegregation efforts."
Yes, Democrats treat old racists who remain racists one way, and old racists who see the light a different way. What a bunch of hyprocrites!
Warren|3.15.06 @ 4:34PM|#
I suppose I am the only horny-hetero-male who hasn't had sex this millennia, that finds the RPG unattractive. A girl that thin just looks malnourished to me. I don't want to jump on her, she'd break. Blech :p
Can't we find a pillow girl with a nice pair of soft pillows?
|3.15.06 @ 4:34PM|#
New name: Reason John Stossel in her Crotch Girl
|3.15.06 @ 4:36PM|#
Sure, and she's a fine colleen!!
|3.15.06 @ 4:42PM|#
RMG is a guy.
Y'all can go throw up now.
|3.15.06 @ 4:43PM|#
"Actually, he was just trying to flatter a dying old man."
Actually, I don't think so. Get a lot of old southerners drunk enough and they'll tell you how much better things used to be. Southerners believed in segregation heart and soul. Once you've enjoyed a privileged position in society, it's awfully hard to believe that you didn't deserve it, somehow.
As for the Reason girl, is she like a paper doll, a photograph that you paste different outfits on, depending on the season? Hey, if it keeps you guys off the streets, I'm all for it.
|3.15.06 @ 4:50PM|#
Like I told you, I'm not a guy.
Guess I was a little thin at that shoot. Problem is they want you to be so thin but if you get that thin you lose any tits you have. It's tough being a model!
|3.15.06 @ 4:56PM|#
I kind of figured that Herrick would be overjoyed to see John Stossels mustache
|3.15.06 @ 5:26PM|#
John Stossel's kinda hot. I didn't mind holding his picture there
wooo!
|3.15.06 @ 5:26PM|#
I liked her better in Red (or was that Bed?)
|3.15.06 @ 5:30PM|#
They tried to make me dye my hair red! But I said no way I was gonna do that.
|3.15.06 @ 5:31PM|#
Yes, Democrats treat old racists who remain racists one way, and old racists who see the light a different way. What a bunch of hyprocrites!
Did Byrd "see the light" before or after his "white niggers" comment in 2001?
|3.15.06 @ 5:31PM|#
I mean, I'm a natural blond. I don't want nasty red hair
|3.15.06 @ 5:36PM|#
I am only wearing green because of St. Patrick's day
What exactly is that supposed to mean? Is the implication that she would not be wearing anything if it weren't for St. Pat's? Am I the only one who either 1) imagines her sounding incredibly dumb when saying that or 2) thinks that the statement sounds like it was written by a foreign pornographer?
|3.15.06 @ 5:41PM|#
sounds like it was written by a foreign pornographer
Oh, those Paddy pornographers.
"Get a load of the potatoes on that one!"
|3.15.06 @ 5:44PM|#
Did you just call me dubm?
|3.15.06 @ 5:49PM|#
What exactly is that supposed to mean? Is the implication that she would not be wearing anything if it weren't for St. Pat's? Am I the only one who either 1) imagines her sounding incredibly dumb when saying that or 2) thinks that the statement sounds like it was written by a foreign pornographer?
I didn't quite get the implications, either. My guess is that either a.)That statement was made so that people don't accuse her of being a enviro-freak Green party crunchie or b.) she wouldn't be wearing anything otherwise.
That's my best guess, anyway.
|3.15.06 @ 5:50PM|#
No, I would wear red if they dind't make me wear that green thing!
|3.15.06 @ 6:59PM|#
A thing is not itself good or evil, but becomes so through our use of it - Thomas Acquinas.
Unlike your examples, racial discrimination isn't a "thing."
Segregation is wrong. Integration is good.
Evidence?
Racial inequality is wrong. Racial equality is good.
What sort of programs do you advocate for getting more Chinese women in the NBA?
Or, are only certain types of inequality wrong? Which types aren't wrong?
A racial caste system is wrong; eliminating a racial caste system is good.
What are you going to say when it's never eliminated?
"The best way to enslave a people, is to preach equality." - C.S. Lewis
"Americans are so enamoured with equality, that they would rather be equal in slavery, than unequal in freedom." - DeToqueville
"The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal." - Aristotle
|3.15.06 @ 7:22PM|#
That statement isn't uncomfortable for me.
Almost forgot; since it's illegal for the gov't to discriminate on the basis of race, which is more important: the rule of law, or racial sameness?
|3.15.06 @ 7:50PM|#
Guess I was a little thin at that shoot. Problem is they want you to be so thin but if you get that thin you lose any tits you have. It's tough being a model!
Not if they're silicone. Haven't you read Liberation Biology? Fuck nature!
|3.15.06 @ 8:07PM|#
Warren:
A girl that thin just looks malnourished to me. I don't want to jump on her, she'd break. Blech :p
I'm the opposite. I find thinness in girls quite attractive. And I have an hypothesis that guys who like thin girls tend to have developed an attraction to females earlier than guys who don't. This is cuz younger girls tend to be thinner and the attraction to them kinda gets imprinted in us that way. This follows from
the idea that there is indeed a lssting imprint in us from our first crush.
|3.15.06 @ 8:16PM|#
joe:
A racial caste system is wrong; eliminating a racial caste system is good.
And in that spirit joe, will you join us in opposing all government mandated racial quotas and preferential treatment?
|3.15.06 @ 8:40PM|#
I do the smacking around here.
Now smacky, no violence on the blog please. It's very distasteful.
Full Discloser: I was a "Spock child", as in Dr. Spock. My parents never once spanked me or struck me in any manner. Instead, when I did something wrong, we would talk about it, and talk and talk and talk...I didn't know it then, but by the time that I was seven, I think that I probably had a pretty good foundation in the theory of ethics. Geeze! I mean, I was just a child.
|3.15.06 @ 9:17PM|#
joe:
Segregation is wrong. Integration is good.
Mr. F. Le Mur
Evidence?
Forced segregation and integration are both wrong cuz of the resort to coercion.
|3.15.06 @ 9:22PM|#
The tragedy of racism is that individuals are discriminated against and denied their individuality.
|3.16.06 @ 4:05PM|#
Rick,
The racial caste system took effort to set up, and it will take effort to dismantle. "Opposing all government mandated racial quotas and preferential treatment" won't eliminate the racial caste system that exists in this country. It will perpetuate it.
I tend to agree with Sandra Day O'Connor - we've made great progress, and will likely have rooted out this curse within a generation. Maybe two. Once there is no caste system, there will be no need to dismantle it, and I will wholeheartedly support and end to preferences.
Mr. LeMur, we're just going to have to agree to disagree. Believing "that all men are created equal," believing that this statement extends to people of different races, and believing that it is wrong to segregate and subordinate one racial, ethnic, or religious group while elevating another to a master caste are First Things, and I don't know how to go about convincing someone who disagrees.
As inappropriate as it is to use that term in the 21st century, I think Sen. Porkie's statement that skin color is irrelevant to character demonstrates that he has indeed "seen the light" since his segregationist days.
|3.16.06 @ 4:08PM|#
Rick, "Forced segregation and integration are both wrong cuz of the resort to coercion."
That's as far as you can go? Segregation is only wrong because of force, and integration can only be judged by its resort to force?
You can't come out and say that the physical, social, economic, and political separation of people along racial lines is an evil in and of itself?
You can't say that dismantling segregation is a good thing, in and of itself?
There are other issues in the world, you know.
|3.16.06 @ 7:04PM|#
You can't say that dismantling segregation is a good thing, in and of itself?
Segregation is 99% voluntary. Only in rare cases is it involuntary, as in the separation of Hispanic and black prisoners because of race riots between them. Should they be forced together so they can murder each other more easily?
Believing "that all men are created equal," believing that this statement extends to people of different races, and believing that it is wrong to segregate and subordinate one racial, ethnic, or religious group while elevating another to a master caste are First Things, and I don't know how to go about convincing someone who disagrees.
Further up in the thread you said you supported all those things (racial inequality, etc), and now you're claiming that you don't.
Cya!
|3.16.06 @ 7:27PM|#
joe,
Government mandated racial quotas and preferential treatment are the closest thing that we have to a caste system. I can choose not to deal with folks who are bigots. My options in fighting government-enforced discrimination are rather more limited. When you support preferences, you're just changing the color of the victims.
There are folks, including sects of Muslims, Jews, and Mormons who prefer to live among their own. I don't like his kind of segregation. It's wrong for me. But I'm not prepared to say that they are wrong to do it. I think that integration is wonderful, and the natural result of looking at folks as individuals, but not forced integration.
