Today's the last day to vote for the Best Group Blog in the 2005 Weblog Awards. Hit and Run is still leading by about 500 votes, but it ain't over yet, so hit that puppy one last time before midnight. (Hit and Run does not endorse hitting actual puppies.)

Jesus' General is beating the Dilbert Blog in the Humor blog
category?
I smell conspiracy.
Also note that Dynamist is dying the death of the damned in Top 250
blogs. Clearly, we have dropped the ball.
Redstate has closed the gap to just 500 votes. H&R was ahaed by 1500 at one time.
Here's what I learned from reading the entrails of the puppy I
just bludgeoned:
Us: 4065
#2, Redstate: 3562
NoStar-
I think the award administrators discounted several hundred votes
from some of our more (ahem) "committed" readers who found a way
around the one-vote-per-day limit.
When all is said and done, perhaps H&R will be awarded the Cheatingest Blog prize. You know who you are.
Cheating is not nice.
(Yes, I'm still kickin', even if my handsome son is eligible for
Social Security too.)
ruthless,
that was funny, very freakin' funny... bludgeoning puppys...
hahahahahahaha... entrails... stop you're killing me...
hahahahahaha.
So is it cheating to vote once per day from your work computer and once from your home computer? I thought that was just dedication.
That's fine, it's deleting the file from your computer that says you already voted then re-voting that caused the dropoff in total votes.
I voted this morning and it still says H&R has over 5400 votes. I'm running XPpro, tried refreshing the page. Any way I can get an update? What's the latest total? Are they done taking our votes away?

Dang, but that Redstate blog is pretty slick. Too bad they're, well, Republicans.
Redstate is just as shameless as us HRs...

i hope hit and run loses by about 7 votes to red state...one vote less then the amount of votes I would have contributed if I was able to buy a black reason t-shirt (size large please)
The total votes for Hit and Run have been reduced by 1440
votes for for excessive voting from three IP address.
Some people have a bit too much time one their hands. Athletics
Nation and Xiaxue were even worse, though I think H&R wins on
excess votes per IP address.

Dear Needs a creative moniker,
How'bout Bill Clinton's favorite moniker: Lewinski. But, what's
wrong with wonderloss? That is creative.
I see another blog had over 9,000 votes removed. So our cheaters
aren't even the best at it. We should be ashamed.
It's past midnight on the east coast.
"You smell that? Do you smell that? That's napalm, son. Nothing
else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in
the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve
hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em,
not one stinkin' dink body. The smell--you know that gasoline
smell--the whole hill. It smelled like...victory."
So, we win, right?
Well, remember, Ken, that "results are not final until all polls
are reviewed. The official announcement of results will occur no
later than Monday December 19, 2005."
Still, yeah...We won, we won, nyah, nyah, nyah!
God I'll look like a jackass if they knock us down another eight
hundred votes or so.
Silly static-IP ballot stuffers. Everyone knows the efficient
web poll cheater scripts a box on his network to connect to a
dynamic-IP dialup account, vote, delete the marking file, then
disconnect - in an endless loop with a randomized repeat delay
added to avoid detection.
Hypothetically.
