Open Source Media, the 70-odd-blogger, $3.5 million collective founded by warhawks Roger Simon and Charles Johnson, launched today. For the ultra-curious, you can listen in on their launch party, which will include a keynote by Judith Miller, and has already (I'm told) featured a 10-minute lute instrumental, and discussion about just what is a blog.

Roger L Simon and Charles Johnson: Making New Media old!
I really wonder is those two guys could take themselves any more seriously. They're not quite DKos self-serious, and certainly not Joshua Micah Marshall self-serious, but it's close.

So how many groups called "Open Source Media" are there now?
|11.16.05 @ 12:33PM|#
Oooooh! Ten minute lute solo.
Timothy|11.16.05 @ 12:37PM|#
If I need 10-minutes of lute, I'll go hang around River Center Mall. There's some guy there always playing lute or pan-pipes over a recorded ocean sound. Oddly, we had the same thing in Eugene when I was in school.

Does Open Stream Media have any Muslim bloggers writing for it? Just wondering.

I read a post somewhere the other day about Pajamas Media's "real offices with marketing staff" in New York, which turned out to be a mail drop in a Rockefeller Center address, with a bad phone number as well. Funny stuff -- wish I could find it.

$3.5 million for some freaking blogs. With a stale 2003 "islamofacist" schtick to boot. There's a lot of cash sloshing around out there with no where to go.

Does anyone have the foggiest idea what the hell OSM is, anyway???
I mean, who the hell needs a page agreggating a bunch of blogs? It's called, uh, another blog.
And what about that stupid Mickey Kaus video site? Like the experience is improved by his ugly mug. (like his writing, though)
People are trying some really stupid shit on the Internet right now.

I thought we libertarians were supposed to disapprove of luters.

Well, good for them if they convinced some VC to give $3.5 mil. It'll be interesting to see if their model works. As far as I can make out said model is - provide 24/7 anti-"MSM" commentary.

Matt: Going to the Pajama party tonight with Blair. Shoulde be interesting. Of course there will be photographs taken.
Matt Welch|11.16.05 @ 3:35PM|#
Lowney -- Awesome. Ask Blair how his girlfriend Zell is doing....

Brilliant. Abso-fucking-lutely brilliant.

I don't think you guys have been nearly snarky enough -- come on, get on the beam, dammit! More snark!

If I don't sleep in pajamas, does that make me not a blogger?

Great, just what we need, another Neo-Imperialist Central...
$3.5 million could buy a lot of weed, 'tis a waste on them.
