I've been wondering for weeks now whether the whole avian flu hysteria thang is just clever marketing by Disney to boost Chicken Little B.O. (If so, it would surely rank as the greatest P.R. coup since Stanley Kubrick killed himself in order to put a few more asses in the seats for his cinematic neutron bomb, Eyes Wide Shut.)
But now I'm left wondering how this latest Chicken Little stunt, which comes to my attention via reader Ari Spanier, fits into the overall marketing plan:
No 'Chicken Little' - Kids see suicide
A Times Square movie theater laid an egg at a showing of "Chicken Little" last night.
Adults and kids expecting to watch Disney's G-rated animated flick at the AMC Empire 25 theater on 42nd St. were instead presented with a foreign film that opened with a young man committing suicide.
Whole story here. The suicide flick, btw, was the Spanish drama Andrea.
I'm left wondering what sort of "pickles and beaver roll" Sony is going to have to substitute for Zathura when that flick finally opens.

That's hilarious.
The Suck article was hard on EWS, but by the same token I think AI
was better than it was reviewed/received upon its release.
Also, Barry Lyndon is cool now because Ryan O'Neal's career
unfolded almost exactly as did his character's life in the
movie.
That's still not as funny as the incident in Seattle a few years ago involving a juxtaposed showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Not Another Teen Movie: Seattle P.I. Story
Thinking to himself...
"Snuff Films are movies that depict actual deaths."
What 90's cartoon character is this?
Barry Lyndon is a frickin' brilliant movie.
Plus, just as a stunt, it was filmed entirely without electric
lighting.
Come on you guys. Play my little game or I'll hijack this thread beyond all recogntion! ;)
Barry Lyndon's wife was hot. Glowingly pale. Big hair. Heaving busom. Much like Jennifer.
Concerning my question:
Thinking to himself...
"Snuff Films are movies that depict actual deaths."
What 90's cartoon character is this?
Here's a hint: One of his side kicks used to say: "You're an
idiot". And that side kick played music.
Meanwhile, across the street, patrons expecting Infrasexum at the PornoDrome were initially shocked at the opening scenes of Chicken Little but assumed someone had spiked the lemonade with LSD again, so they toked up and rode it out.
Come on you guys. Play my little game or I'll hijack this
thread beyond all recogntion! ;)
um, was it Stimpy?
[/doesn't really know; caving into RB's threat]
smacky has revealed her judicious wisdom and saved this thread
from destruction. So the least I can do is let everyone know that
when I said "90's cartoon character", I shoulda said: 90's and
early 2000's cartoon character.
That was another hint for you all and it doesn't have a friggin
thing to do with the walrus and Paul.
I'm starting to get the feeling that threatening to take this
thread off topic is kinda like threatening to make the government
waste money.
Now damn it, guess which cartoon character I'm thinking of!
Can't be Duckman; I don't recall "You're an idiot" being one of Cornfed's sayings.
Ok ok. At Jennifer's behest, I'll say it now. It's:
!SPACE GHOST!
The show was very edgy. I like Zorak, the iconoclastic and
insulting mantis. Remember when Space Ghost would think to himself
during his interviews with the guests? Which, BTW, included the
Ramones in one episode.

Today I handed my metaphorical Space Ghost Fan Club badge
in.
I am unworthy of calling myself a member of the Space Ghost Fan
Club.
I am ashamed.
(Rick Barton, the Ramones episode was awesome! That episode was
also the Christmas special....)
smacky,
Oh my goodness no! No Shame. My hints were purposefully way vague.
Hold your head up with pride while I cyber pin your metaphorical
Space Ghost Fan Club badge on you. There. Excellent.
The only Ramones episode that I'm familiar with is one that
featured Bobcat as well:
