"Stay the course" sounds nice and resolute, but Gene Healy and Justin Logan point out that hope is not a plan.

It's a volunteer army on the way in. Getting out is an entirely different story.

Cutting and running is a plan the islamofascists like ( along with the American hating Democrat ). It would cost America many more lives for 50 years. Staying until the Iraqis can handle the security situation themselves IS ALSO A PLAN. Islamofascists and American hating Democrats hate it. It is the best course for America. More evidence why you can't trust liberals with foreign policy or national defense.

" It would cost America many more lives for 50 years."
Got any evidence for this? (I mean besides the name-calling and jingoism.)

I think leaving now will entail going back over to the mid east in about 5 years and losing a lot more troops than a hundred a month.

``Hope is not a plan.''
Bad reading. That's not hope. That's determination.
He is saying we will not give up, we will continue until it's done.
Hope doesn't affect the future. Determination does.

I agree with the article that first we need an actual definition of "it's done."
American hating Democrats hate it.
Don't you hate that?

I don't think that I'm a liberal, but I have to ask. How does pre-emptively invading a country that hasn't attacked the U.S., and wasn't in a position to do so, constitute national defense?

Punishment for 9/11 in order to prevent another.

And the trolls come out a-swingin'!

Do pro-Administration groups assign people to troll websites where dissenters might post?
Cutting one's losses can be very wise in business and in gambling, especially when the odds are not in one's favor and/or one's bankroll is not unlimited.
Our troops won't run, but they will withdraw when ordered, just as they did out of Beirut when Reagan said so after the bombing.
Avoid foreign entanglements.
