The Women's Game Conference shines a light on the question of why 88.5 percent of video gamers are male. Possible answer: only 11.5 percent of that demographic has girlfriends.
Actually, according to the article, the 88.5% number referred to programmers, not players.

That was an interesting article... The market is definitely glutted with testosterone titles. Yet titles with wider appeal (Sims, Myst) are top sellers. I wonder why there's such a disconnect there.
