Reading Katrina

Where are you going for on-the-ground Katrina coverage? Here's my partial list; please suggest others in the comments, and I'll add to it:

The Times-Picayune, the Houston Chronicle's Astrodome Blog; Metroblogging New Orleans, Michael Barnett & co., WWLTV, WWL-AM, and a relief worker named Beau Nidle. UPDATE: Also, WGNO-TV, WDSU-TV, and even Wikipedia.

I go to Instapundit, because as he has made clear, blogs are better than the Mainstream Media. As we all know, Instapundit left his Tennessee college campus last weekend to report from New Orleans, and has remained in the thick of the action there since. His breathtaking first-hand reports have been, well, breathtaking.

WDSU switches to the national feed at 11pm, so I gave up there.

I'm on local email lists, which is no help to others.

It all means more if you're familiar with the people and places the locals talk about.

I don't know that it's any better (or even as good as) than your links, but I've been checking WDSU-TV's website. Also, I have no idea where to find it, but I've seen people talking about listening to police scanners over the net.

On Monday, I was curious about something about New Orleans. After a google search I ended up on a Wikipedia page about NO with a link about the hurricane. It's surprisingly thorough and current.

Even on Monday as I was repeatedly reloading a Kartrina thread on Fark, there was little that I read on Fark that hadn't also been included in the Wiki entry.

cbsnews.com has a live local feed, plus views from the air (which just reported that 50 firefighters are being held by armed gangs in the Bellsouth building downtown).
