In the Afghan Hindu Kush, an Italian organization is turning mujahideen into mountain tour guides:
"I have lots of experience in these mountains fighting the Russians," said Commander Rahim Khan, one of the former mujahideen fighters, who handed in his weapons earlier this year.

I missed the part where the guy was described as having been in the Taliban, as opposed to, say, the Northern Alliance or some local warlord.

I would hope a course in land mine identification and removal would be on the list.

I wonder how many of these guys are really former Taliban. Sounds like they might be Northern Alliance.
