Rich,
You're not saying that Canseco had "no balls" are you? Or that he
should have "nutted up" before congress?
I'm waiting for congress to go after steroid use in Hollywood.
All these actors that put on a ton of muscle in a short period of
time have to be juicing. Toby Maguire went from jockey sized in
Seabiscut to super hero buff in Spiderman 2. Christian Bale looks
like a concentration camp survivor in the Machinist, but puts on
100 lbs of muscle in less than a year for Batman Begins. And those
are just the first two that come to mind. They like to pretend it
comes from their Dinero like dedication to their craft. I think it
comes form BALCO.
They are playing with their health and warping body images on a
global scale. Where's McCain on this? What does this say to the
children?
David, I guess what I'm trying to say is, as he's written a book about steroids, Canseco's clearly a victim of his own dis-semen-ation.
Since steroid use in Hollywood is legal, does that mean Conseco will be able to juice on The Surreal Life ?
I don't know if I'd say they were wasted - seems to me like he took one for the team.
ralphus - while you're probably right, in defence of actors and
athletes, they have plenty of time and money to make sure they're
in tip-top shape with or without steroids (and for the record,
although I'm sure most of you are aware, I have no problem with
steroids and think they should be perfectly legal).
If you had no job to go to, a personal trainer to make sure you
worked out at least once a day, and work out hard, someone to
figure out the best diet for you, someone to prepare all your
meals, etc, etc, you could probably do the same thing Mr Bale
did.
I just wish I had the dedication to do it myself, because I am not
the idle rich. :)
Yeah, but why would you do it the hard way (without steroids)
when doing it the easy way is so, well, easy if you're a Hollywood
hotshot.
They're juicing. Don't doubt it for a minute.
I don't personally care if actors juice or not. Doesn't affect
me one way or another. Except to maybe make me feel better about
the puny results of my workouts.
I agree with Lowdog that most Hollywood bodies are built with the
money, time and resources most of us don't have. I just happen to
think one of those resources is high-grade roids.
