This proposal in the liberal Washington Monthly for "universal healthcare vouchers" sounds, at least on a first pass, pretty similar to what our own Ron Bailey suggested back in our November '04 issue. The New America Foundation also appears to be big on this one. I doubt it's anyone's first-best solution here, but could it be a way to avert a British-style system and shift health care back to a more consumer driven model?
