Politics Makes Strange Bedfellows, Chapter 253 (GOP Porn Edition)

Via Sploid comes this World Net Daily story about porn producer Mark Kulkis and porn star Mary Carey of Kick Ass Productions (Kick A-- in WND's dainty rendering) will be attending a GOP fundraiser featuring President Bush.

From a press release reprinted in the story:

"All eyes will be on Carey and Kulkis as they locate the table they bought with a sizable contribution to the NRCC. Prompting the questions, should Republicans accept donations from tax paying, law abiding pornographers? Who will be sitting at their table? And is she a natural blonde?"

The GOP is not nonplussed by it all:

"It's my understanding that [Carey's] boss is bringing her as his guest," Carl Forti, communications director of the NRCC, told WND. "That's what he claims anyway. He has paid for two people....There are going to be 6,000 people in the ballroom," he noted. "It's not like it's some kind of one-on-one dinner. They've paid their money. No matter what they do, the money is going to go to help elect Republicans to the House."

Why there may be vomiting by dessert:

Added Carey: "I'm especially looking forward to meeting Karl Rove. Smart men like him are so sexy. I know that he's against gay marriage, but I think I can convince him that a little girl-on-girl action now and then isn't so bad!"

Carey ran for governor of California in the recall election, proposing, among other things, a tax on fake breasts (which is in keeping with Kick Ass's product quality pledge: "1. No Fake Tits, 2. No Condoms, 3. All-Naked sex, 4. Entertainment Value."; which, when you think about it, is the same as politics, except for No. 4).

Whole WND account here.

If nothing else, here's hoping this meeting of minds helps call off gratuitous federal prosecution of porn, a GOP calling card in the past.

Reason recounted the useless results of the war on porn here and here.

Update: As per Joe's copyediting, I've inserted the proper "not" before nonplussed.

You misused nonplussed. It means "upset," even though it sounds like it means "not upset."

Kick A-- in WND's dainty rendering...

Well, you have to understand: the people who read (and write for) WND are are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the New West. You know - morons.

I dunno. I think Don King capaigning for Bush is far more outrageous than this. Carey's at least law abiding. She never killed anyone.

Hope she doesn't get her hopes up about Rove. Who do you think was "meeting" with Jeff Gannon all those times he visted the White House?

It's even more like politics than you may think, as one of these promises (#1) is a lie.

""They've paid their money. No matter what they do, the money is going to go to help elect Republicans to the House.""

That sounds like whore logic. So the Republicans are admitting that they are whoring themselves? What wonderful irony..

More Nick-picking:

It's "joe", not "Joe". Ha!!

So does this mean that Pat Buchanan & Lou Dobbs will call for (pardon the pun) Protectionist legislation against cheap imported porn?

Do anyone else find it funny that this article that complains about immigration has a grammatical error?

When it mentions MeCHa, it says "It's motto" instead of "its motto".

No, it doesn't. It means "perplexed." Which is not a strict synonym for "upset."

Who do you think was "meeting" with Jeff Gannon all those times he visted the White House?

I thought that was Ken Mehlman.

John Stagliano is a big Reason contributor! I was stoked when I read that the other day.

Nah, "No Lube" would make it the same as politics.
