In deference to this trend, the State Department report is positively sex-obsessed. The authors devote a whole page to reminding us that "prostitution is inherently harmful" and the U.S. opposes its legalization.



In other news, the State Department announces a diplomatic mission to Nevada...

I guess the next step is to show how libertarians ought to be more understanding of plain old chattel slavery. After all, people don't sell themselves into slavery unless they find slavery to be preferable to the alternative. That necessarily means that if we outlaw such voluntary transactions, we slam the door on what may for some be the most promising way to escape starvation.
