Some interesting counterpoint at "http://ironmouth.com/PermaLink.aspx?guid=4ff483b4-df61-4463-9952-e1be620e0b88", suggesting that this FEC dude is being disingenuous: the FEC could never actually apply McCain-Feingold against private citizens (politically impossible), but pretending that they're about to will weaken support for anti-bribery laws in general. Wouldn't surprise me a bit...
I just hate the got dam government so much sometimes. Most normal people think I'm a nut case, but got dam it, stuff like this is insane.
Imagine how many constitutional amendments we would have by now if the rules were followed & every bill that didn't have explicit authorization had to be done by amendment....
