I don't think Nixon would have cavalierly walked into the Iraq trap, but there's something about Bush that makes me think of Nixon.
...Maybe it's his supporters--the way his supporters rally around him. Maybe it's because he seems to take the culture war seriously. Maybe it's the way he seems to spin the War in Iraq as a function of the culture war. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but there's something about him that makes me think of Nixon.
