As a Phishhead-in-a-former-life, I just want to note an odd coincidence on The Corner today. In one post, Jonah Goldberg suggests that the president simply read the bizarro lyrics to the band's classic "Fee" as his inaugural address. In another, he notes the resemblance between our current dear leader and Woodrow Wilson.
And what (you may wonder) have those two things got to do with each other? Well, as hippie-gathering-places go, one seldom saw political T-shirts at Phish shows, but at the band's very last show there was one sort of popular one: It showed George W. Bush's head wearing a crown and bore the legend "W. is for Wilson." I'd assumed it was a reference to the evil king of Gamehenge, but who knows, maybe there are lots of history-buff hippies out there making a subtle critique by analogy.
