Till Reconsidered

In non-election news, you may have been riveted (as I was) by the piece on the murder of Emmett Till that appeared on 60 Minutes eight days ago. But in an article for History News Network, Reason contributor David Beito says Hold on a minute.

It would be nice if they were able to nail at least a few of the perpetrators who may be still alive. What was done to that poor child is an abomination, as was the trial that followed. The Scottsboro Boys eventually got some measure of justice, but Till still waits for his.

So the "headline" promised more than the story delivered. I don't really see why this is such a big deal.

That was quite a story, though.
