I have a better idea: instead of just repealing the Wellstone amendment, how about repealing the whole awful law? The best description of it I've ever seen is "McCain - Feingold Incumbent Protection Act". Too bad it would hurt the legislators where it counts, their ass in their Congressional chair, to repeal it.
No sarcastic comment is strong enough to finish up this post. Just repeal this misbegotten law.

Well, thanks for taking away the first amendment. Freedom of the press no longer applies to "We, the people", but is now limited to the people the government approves of.

Will we ever appoint justices to the SCOTUS who can read English at the grade school level?

Warren, I think that would probably be preferable to the college English Lit. class level that everything is read at now, searching for motivations of the authors, and hidden meanings, and context of the time, and subtexts of personal strife. Maybe we need to get people who haven't taken any college english classes at all.
