Dear Loyal Readers (who are among the smartest, handsomest, and most beautiful souls on the planet),
Do Hit & Run a favor, whydon'tcha, and give us a plug at the Washington Post's Best Blogs - Politics and Elections Readers' Choice Awards.
Right wing. Left wing. Indifferent. Irreverent. There's a blog for every taste, opinion and attitude. washingtonpost.com's 2004 Best Blogs - Politics and Elections Readers' Choice Awards is your chance to speak out and vote for your favorite politics and election blogs.
From now until September 3, we'll be taking nominations from the blogosphere on the best weblogs from this political season. Whose rants could give Dennis Miller a run for his money? Who's making the best use of the technology? Who will be around long after the hype has died down?
More info here.
As they say in Chicago, vote early and vote often.

Most Implausible Theory Of Mexican Territorial Expansion?

Ho ho ho! Actually, I decided not to nominate myself for this contest. Unlike "crimething" I have actual content and it's frequently at odds with that in the mainstream press and the mainstream blogs. I don't need to be one of the WaPo's pets.
Jason: do some reading before speaking.

I thought I was tight already with the Washington Post site, but nay. (They even send me the daily thing.)
I had noticed before that their web site is user unfriendly even for moi, as a "subscriber."
After jumping through more hoops than I would have cared to, trying to do my duty for Nick, and still landing on square one, I'm thinking you don't want their steenking affirmation.
Whomever they rank as the best blog site we can enjoy ridiculing.
After that, we can ridicule the Washington Post site.
I was looking forward to slipping in a plug for AntiWar.com.

The categories make this place difficult to pigeonhole, so I did "Most Original", "Best Rant", and "Best Outside the Beltway".
I feel handsomer already.

Nick,
This thing came out a month ago - I had already nominated you guys for a couple of things (voting hadn't started yet). Are you now pushing the second round, or something?
Or, are you just late noticing it?
Pete Guither|8.17.04 @ 11:30AM|#
It seems to me, based on the category choices, that the blogging contest doesn't understand blogging.

will we have independent observers to ensure our voting rights are honored?

Victoria Postrel would never have begged for votes.

zorel,
thanks for the early plugs. this isn't the second round or anything; i'm just a day late and a dollar short on this one, which takes some of the sting out of crimethink's comment.

nostalgic,
you are right, "victoria" would have no reason to bleg for votes; "virginia" on the other hand, ... :-)
