The Observer has an excellent two-part piece by Adam Higginbotham on the match made in heaven between the late Serbian war criminal "Arkan" and his pop star wife "Ceca".
Here's a tidbit:
But the most popular couple in Serbia was still dogged by the past. One story told has them appearing on a TV Pink chat show, when a female viewer called in to compliment Ceca on her beautiful gold and diamond necklace - and accurately described an inscription on it. The host of the show asked how she could possibly know what was written on Ceca's jewellery. 'Because Arkan stole it from me in [the ethnically cleansed town of] Bijeljina,' said the caller.

No different, I am sure, than that of people who have purchased, however innocently, treasures that were later found to have been looted by Nazi Germany. She either cast it off like it was on fire or, more likely I think, she yawned as the host went to commercial.
