I'll admit that I initially cracked up when I read the
statements declaring the governments' weed to be "crap". But then I
thought - as you noted, ScottC, that they could screw up anything -
even something as simple as growing decent weed. (Has anyone
considered that the contaminants in the weed were not accidental?
"Here's your weed, freakin' hop head mofo")
They ought to just let everyone be allowed to grow as much as they
feel is necessary for their pleasure and decriminalize it. I
understand there is plenty of online info on the processes.
Personally, I have to think just getting some decent seeds and
finding a sunny spot should do the trick. LOL
They'll use the demon weed in trials of the efficacy of
marijuana, and then, behold!, it does notthing to allieviate
symptoms.
That'll be the end of medical marijuana.
In 1992, I met an American who was receiving US government
marijuana under the Reagan era medical mj program. She complained
about the quality too.
On the other hand, in the early 1970's, research scientists were
provided with very powerful marijuana so they could conduct tests
to prove people could not function while high.
Audie Bock, running for Governor in the recall election, wants a
state monopoly on sale of marijuana - so California voters should
heed the lesson of Canada in this case.
What a fekkin' surprise! Is there anything the government touches that doesn't turn to shit?
Bad curing might be part of the problem; improperly-dried plants
of any sort will get moulds and the like really easily; badly-cured
dope supposedly loses its potency quickly, and since cannabinoids
degrade unevenly (and some into each other) the profile of the
material can change drastically.
The marijuana's being "finely-ground" (if that's true) would
accelerate aging...it may be that the stuff tests out at 10% when
it's packaged and 3% by the time it was tested.
This is especially funny because Canada is a great source for high quality green.
The problem is no doubt that the dope cultivation is not being done with the requisite love required for a good product. Can we get Tommy Chong to serve community service over in Canada to help out their program?
It's being grown under a $5.8 million CDN contract by a private
company in Flin Flon(?!), Manitoba.. in an abandoned mine shaft.
One hopes they're using some grow lamps down there.
Why didn't they just contract it out to a randomly-selected house
of pizza delivery guys and philosophy majors in Vancouver for a few
grand and a couple of cases of Ding Dongs?
Laugh it up,guys
At least its not your tax dollars being blown this time.
The heavy metals? My guess would be that it had something to do with being in a mine, although using compost derived from plants grown in a contaminated area could do it as well.
restrooms
transportation
marijuana
These things are all great until you put the word "public" in front
of them.
Fvck this company BS. There are thousands of hippies dreaming of one day growing pot legally. At least put them on the gov't payroll for a song and dance and let them do what they do best. Hell, half of them live in caves now!
On the bright side, a British Columbia (Canada's left-coast province) court has ruled that the existing marijuana laws are invalid. Full Story...
I dont really see the fascination with medical marijuana. I think it actually pushes drug law reform back a step, by putting doctors in charge.
