...Hunter S. Thompson? That's the shorthand of a rant on the genesis of "Frankenblair." You see, the Times and newspapers in general have slid into the glossy magazine style of journalism. That's where "star writers" and prescient editors whip up copy with just a passing nod to objective reality.
Kinda nuts, true, but I like it because Simon Dumenco comes across as even more cynical than me.
