The Reason Foundation is co-sponsoring a debate tonight in Los Angeles on the question of America's possibly pending war with Iraq. It features Christopher Hitchens. Michael Ignatieff, Mark Danner from the New Yorker, and Robert Scheer. Moderator is Steve Wasserman of the Los Angeles Times Book Review. It happens at 7 p.m. at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, 3790 Wilshire Blvd. It is free, but tickets are required. You can call 213-380-5005 for information.

Good thing it's free. The idea of spending money on anything even remotely attached to Christopher Hitchens makes me giggle uncontrollably.

Ick. Robert Scheer. Anything with Chris Hitchens is bound to be good, but couldn't the Foundation have done better than Scheer? To judge from his columns, the old "New Left"-er might be the most intellectually dishonest man on the whole West Coast.
