Drug War Casualties
Some good -- albeit heartwrenching -- press for Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM) in this week's LA Weekly. FAMM agitates for changes in unduly onerous federal drug sentences. The Weekly tells some blood-boiling stories -- it's always worthwhile being reminded of the real destruction caused by the fed's criminal "war." (Full disclosure: Before she founded FAMM, its president, Julie Stewart, was my first boss in the libertarian policy world back when I first began interning at a D.C. think tank.)

It would be interesting to get comments from our drug-enforcement people on whether they think this is justice. Any comment, Mr. Drug Czar?

Justice isn't the point for these people. Whether or not a law was broken is.

Gosh - I can't beleive that this BS continues. It saddens me to say that I, at one time, took an oath to 'support and defend the Constitution of the United States...'

I have a driver's license revocation for a DUI (.09, thanks to Clinton). First offense, spotless record notwithstanding.
The worst part isn't the driving, I can live without and save a lot of money in the process. It's the constant disbelief I get from everyone when I tell them, especially the employees of the Secretary Of State's office!
