Kidnap That Teen! It's the Law!
The Illinois Supreme Court noted that in their zeal to stop underage drinking, state lawmakers had crafted a law that required people to commit a felony.
The anti-drunk driving law required the residents of any abode -- be they adult or minor -- to forcibly stop any drinker under 21 from leaving their home. Failure to do so was crime.
The court struck down that provision as "unconstitutionally vague'' -- legal-speak for butt-stupid. But that hasn't deterred Mothers Against Drunk Driving. MADD would like lawmakers to adopt new language that would require everyone to call the police if they think an underage drinker is about leave.

They should just translate some sections from the former East German penal code into English, you know, the bits on denouncing people to the police.
