US Diplomat Summoned in Beijing Over White House Visit by Dalai Lama

China didn't want Obama to meet him.

China on Friday summoned US Charge d'Affaires here and lodged a strong diplomatic protest over the meeting between President Barack Obama and the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. 

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui summoned Daniel Kritenbrink, Charge d'Affaires of US Embassy in China, to lodge solemn representations for Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama disregarding China's strong opposition, the Foreign Ministry here said in a statement.
