LA Tickets 12,000 Drivers over New Toll Lanes

Wanting more than $18,000 from those who drove in lanes without paying

Two weeks after Los Angeles opened its first express lanes, Metro has sent more than 12,000 tickets to drivers caught without a transponder on Route 110.

As of Monday, Metro had mailed 12,297 citations for a total of $18,358 in fees to motorists caught on camera without the required FasTrak transponders, according to a blog post on Zev Yaroslavsky's website, the Los Angeles County 3rd district supervisor.
