Former CIA director David Petraeus quietly arrived on Capitol Hill on Friday morning and went behind closed doors to testify on the Sept. 11 attacks in Benghazi in his first appearance before lawmakers since his sudden resignation due to an extramarital affair.
Petraeus showed up with little fanfare, with only a congressional aide informing the press of his arrival. He was not seen by the media. The former general’s first stop was at a 7:30 a.m. hearing before members of the House Intelligence Committee. He was then scheduled to testify in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee 90 minutes later. Both appearances will be under oath.
